For those with a logitech track ball mouse - you can totally clean them 😂

I’m not sure why this is news but to me it was a discovery. A couple of years ago I just gave up on mine after the ball stopped gliding well. I remember looking it up and seeing that everyone just buys a new one after a year? Which is insane for a $120 mouse. Fed up, I just bought a traditional mouse and moved on.

Fast forward to today - I was having sooo much trouble with my current mouse. The cursor was jumping and jittering constantly across the screen. I guess tracking on my multi-colored one-piece mouse pad was too much for it 🫠 Anyways, I remembered my old track ball mouse, googled how to pop the ball out. It’s actually so easy I’m not sure why I even went to google, I literally could have just looked at the thing.

Basically you just pop off the magnetic back plate, then use a cue tip to push the ball out. Then be disgusted by all the dirt and oil that’s trapped in the reservoir. I used isopropyl alcohol on the cue tip to get it out and then a microfiber cloth to clean the ball itself.

Then I popped that sucker back in and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t glide as good as new! I’m glad I have my mouse back but feel dumb for just letting it collect dust because I wasn’t thinking.

Also why doesn’t every bluetooth/wireless mouse have a dongle storage compartment? It’s insane to me that I just have to keep track of those things and the device they belong to.
